Law school? My crazy two year old? My rapidly growing baby? My unsuccessful attempts to lose the baby weight? My calling in church? My mommy-fail moments? New friends? New frustrations? The things going wrong? The things going right?
All of the above, I guess.
This week, law school is kicking my bottom. (We say bottom in this house - Aimee picks up on everything)
There is something so hard about coming back from being on vacation. The first week back is so hard. For me, that was last week. But it's rolling into this week as well!
For one, I have no husband.
Ok, I do - but he has this thing called the second semester of law school that he's a tad busy with these days. I've heard that the second semester of the first year is the hardest, so far - this is true. He's not home until nearly midnight these days. And that's only because the library closes at midnight. He studies another hour at home before crashing. Only to be up bright and early the next morning to do it all over again. My poor big baby...
I have been praying hard lately to be a better mom. It's so hard to be patient with Aimee. I have to remind myself all the time that she is still a baby. Truly, she's only been on this planet for 33 months... but still, I struggle. It doesn't help that this week Jack is sick, teething, and not napping. This combination plus Aimee's mega attitude is a sure recipe for mommy madness!
I think back to two years ago. When I was staying home with just my little Aimee. Now looking back I think, What the heck did we do all day??? It is infinitely busier this time around with Jack. I feel like we are on the go all the time, but the hours between 4-7pm somehow move in slow motion. I know you moms out there with older children smile knowingly and think, just you wait!
I am not even scratching the surface on the things that were running through my mind all day. And now it's nearly midnight and if I don't get to sleep soon, I am sure I will regret it in the morning.
Here's to getting some more blogging done. For what it's worth...
