And blogging... finally.
SO last anyone heard, we were moving to Dallas. Well, it still happened. Even though it doesn't seem real yet...
After we left Naples the kids and I spent the last month staying with my parents and with Greg's parents. It was like I was on this weird endless vacation. It was kind of nice... but also a little like I was procrastinating the inevitable.
So much has happened the last month, I don't know where to begin. The things we did in Florida, then all the things we did in Utah, including Drew's wedding. And the mini-adventures of getting settled in Dallas... it's been a bit of a blur. And I've wanted to blog - so badly! But we still don't have Internet set up in our apartment. And we won't until the 22nd. Yeah, it's lame.
The silver lining in all of this has been Greg's aunt and uncle, who have been so so so kind and helpful. Greg stayed with them for a few weeks (and the kids and I for a few days) before we could move into our new place. The kids and I are staying here again tonight, while Greg is at a football game out of town. So I have internet! Hooray!!
Part of the difficulty with this whole move (for me) has been feeling so disconnected and so far away from everyone! I had no idea how heavily I depend on the internet. Also, we didn't bring our TV with us. Which has turned out to be a mostly good thing so far, but doesn't help with feeling out of touch with the whole world.
I have to keep telling myself that it will just take time. Once we make some friends, have a routine... (and the internet!) life will feel normal!
I have lots of things I want to write and not a lot of time... Just know that we are (mostly) good! Greg is doing great at SMU. He's had some call backs on interviews and was offered a position as a Garner Black Law Scholar (I may be butchering the title a little bit)... just know this - it's a really good thing! Aimee is having a harder time adjusting. She misses her FL friends and asks about them often. She's hasn't been sleeping great either. I wonder if it's just that she's not used to the house... BUT there is some good news! Jack has been sleeping through the night the last couple of nights. It only took a year, but I'll take it!! (I'm sure I'm going to jinx it tonight by writing this).
Check back again sometime after the 22nd...
