Now that I am One...

Now that I am one, I like to get into things. My favorite thing to get into right now is Mommy's wallet. I love to take out every card, dollar, and receipt I can find. I get mad when we are at the store and mommy takes it out but then won't let me play with it!
Something else I like to do is pull things out of drawers and cabinets. Oh, and don't get me started on fresh piles of folded laundry!
I also like to talk on the phone, though I usually hold it behind my head a little, and not next to my ear. I like to yell for daddy, like mommy does. "Daaaaaah!!"
I have recently discovered that flushing the toilet is super fun. AND pulling all the toilet paper off the roll, then tearing it to pieces is super fun too.
Buttons are still fascinating to me, I love them. I love pushing buttons on things like the dishwasher and remote.
TV is ok, I like to watch shows when there is music playing or if there are animals featured. I like to watch old school Sesame Street with mommy occasionally too.
I like to dance when I hear music, I kind of bob up and down a little, sometimes I change it up a bit by doing a little rocking back and forth. I like to play on the piano too!
I have a kitty, I like to hug him and try to kiss him, but he usually runs away. I don't have a doggy, but they are my FAVORITE! I can even say "doggy" and "kitty."

I think mommy and daddy's noses and mouths are really neat. I like to stick my fingers in them. I only have two teeth right now - but they have so many!
Even though I don't have very many teeth I won't eat baby food anymore. That stuff is disgusting! I like to eat what mommy and daddy eat. I love pickles, pasta, tacos, ice cream, oatmeal, hamburgers, and smoothies. McDonald's is one of my favorite places to go!
I "OoooOooo" at anything I would really like to get my hands on. Things like keys, phones, cameras, medicine... pretty much anything I'm not supposed to have.
I am getting pretty good at standing up without holding on to anything - and I am doing it all the time now! I have even started taking a few steps!  My first two steps were last night at Aunt Beep (Stephanie) and Uncle Michael's house.
Speaking of - they are probably my two favorite people in the whole world. Probably even more favorite than mommy or daddy sometimes. Beep feeds me yummy treats whenever I go and visit her. I get sad when she can't stay and play with me for what I deem as the appropriate amount of time - which can vary given my mood.
I love to play with my baby doll, Svet Lana... I am trying to say "Lana" now. I also say "Where did it go?" But it sounds more like "D'go?" Overall, most things are still "Da."
I point at everything I see... you know, just to keep mom guessing.
I am starting to be naughty about some things... I will hit mommy on the face. She tells me "no"... I look at her for a second, then hit her again. She keeps threatening me with something called "time out" and "spankings" but I don't know what she is talking about.

I like sleeping sometimes... but never alone, and certainly not in that awful crib. I prefer it when mommy holds me. I don't understand why she won't hold me all night.
I love strangers! I will stare at them until they acknowledge me, and pay me a little compliment. I have come to expect it.
I love to be out and about where there are lots of people to see. Especially kids - I love to watch and boss around other kids.
I don't have much hair, the hair that I do have sticks out in the back. Mommy keeps saying things like, "Hopefully she will get some soon" - I don't mind! I just wear bows, and usually keep them in, unless we are riding somewhere in the car, then I promptly pull them out. The car... hmmm.... I am not sure how I feel about car rides... they are great if I am sleepy enough to take a nap, otherwise I get bored pretty fast.
I love, love, LOVE to look at pictures and books. I have quite a collection growing. My favorite books are animal picture books. I like to growl when I look at the animals!
I like to scrunch up my nose and make funny faces. I've been tilting my head to the side when I look at mommy and daddy lately. They seem to get a big kick out of it, so I keep doing it.
I like to talk very loudly... bang on the windows... and follow mommy around the house.
I love bath time! I like to drink the water, even though mommy tells me not to.
It makes my day when daddy comes home from work. My face lights up and I scramble to go and greet him. I love it when he chases me, and like to chase him back too. I love my mommy, I love to give her hugs and kisses and giggle when she makes funny faces and sounds.
I like to do all these things... now that I am one!

Birthday Party Celebrations! Part 2

We celebrated Aimee's first birthday a little early this year - and it was a huge success! She was a very good sport about the whole thing. No crying - she even kept her birthday hat on the whole time! Thank you to everyone for coming and for all the cute gifts!! Especially thanks to my sister, Steph for helping so much and being the photographer so I could play hostess.  We had a little bbq outside, (just in time too, because it is cold and rainy today!) followed by presents and cake. The cake, was the best! I cried I was laughing so hard... we filmed it, but can't seem to get the video uploaded - I will keep trying though. Aimee was hesitant about the cake at first, but it didn't take long before she shoved her whole face in it! It was all up her nose... she is definitely a fan of funfetti.

Enjoy!

Birthday Party Celebrations! Part 1

In preparation for Aimee's 1st birthday - we had a little photo shoot. I know, I know - there are a lot of pictures. But her expressions are so funny to me! And she changes them in an instant - its hard not to post ALL of them. The one where the cat is close to her is one of my favs - he NEVER gets that close to her! She is gleefully surprised too!

Aimee and Addy

I need to apologize to my sister in law, Laura - for not getting some of these pictures up here sooner! Laura and Addison came (nearly 2 months ago now!) to visit with us in Utah! These two are true BFFs!

With the graduates

We met up with Kirsi and Linnae for some Quiznos!

Aimee attacks! Really, she just likes to give hugs and kisses...

Elder Bayba!

My little brother was called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the South Salt Lake City Mission. He has been an awesome missionary for the last 2 years and gets to go home next week! It's been hard not to go find him since he's been so close. But his mission president gave him permission to come meet us for lunch yesterday!! It was so awesome to see him again! He has turned into this man now - he's not a little boy anymore. Here are some pictures from lunch.

Elder Bayba at Applebee's... this is a classic expression.

Siblings Reunited!! Drew got to meet Aimee for the first time too.

Elder Bayba giving Aimee a pass-along card.

Aimee was calling the Applebee's crowd to repentance. Ha!

Kissing Cousins and Company

This is going to be a monster of a blog... so much has been going on! This month we've had a lot of company, and will have some more before the month is out. Let's begin:

Greg's cousin, Linnae had her baby blessed on Easter Sunday (she would be the one in white). Here are all the cousin's kids. Kirsi, Drew, Aimee, Clark, and Ty.

Aimee kissing Ty. She LOVES to kiss the babies! I think it's because we encourage her to kiss her baby doll... or more likely, she thinks she is biting them.

A nicer kiss for Kirsi. Ty looks concerned.

Day-Before-Easter Morning. Aimee holding Svet Lana (yes, that is her baby's name) - and making some weird face. I love her random faces!

Grumpy face! Apparently not a huge fan of the Easter Egg hunt.

Ok - so someone please tell me that they hate how small the posting screen is and how it's really hard to move pictures around once you upload them. Maybe I am doing them wrong... These are totally backwards, but here is Aimee with her cousin's Neal and Amelia at the dinosaur museum.

More dinosaur museum...

Crammed in the car. It is becoming more and more apparent to me that I (sadly) need a minivan.

Aimee and Neal enjoyed kissing each other.

So Aimee's friend from England, miss Nora Jane came to visit too! Her dad is going to school there and he had a little break, so they came back to Utah to visit their fams - and us too! (Thanks for coming to play Hilary!)

It was pretty much impossible to get a picture of the two girls looking at the camera at the same time!

The toys were more fun than the camera! They were both SUPER busy the whole time!

Ok, so I think that sums up about half of the month. Like I said before, we still have more company coming (tonight, actually) and more to updates to write about. Aimee is getting busier and busier everyday. I love how fascinated she is by every little thing. For instance, cords for the window blinds and light switches. I have her turn the lights off and on as we go from room to room. She also really loves animals, including big dogs! She gets so excited to see them. She is also loving the warmer weather and walks outside. And swimming! We started baby "swim" lessons - she loves it! More updates on that later...
