Florida, Part 2

On our Floridian adventure we went to Universal Studios. Aimee was fascinated, yet terrified by all the characters in the park. But she did love Fievel's playland. We could have stayed there all day if it were up to her. I have a funny video of her at that part of the park that I need to upload.

Dora scared Aimee to death up close. Aimee preferred all the characters from a distance.

Donkey was also terrifying. And we thought she'd be so thrilled too! She LOVES Shrek right now (seriously, she wants to watch it daily).

Aimee was especially scared of the Simpsons.

Finally, Aimee's happy place, at Fievel's playland.

By far, her favorite part of the whole day!

Florida, Part 1

Sorry, to my dad especially, for taking so long to get these uploaded! And for those of you who follow, but didn't know, my dad is on the tail end of a year-long tour in Iraq. So, he especially likes it when I update my blog.

Aimee and I got to go out and visit my mom and sister in Florida earlier this month. As always, it's loads of fun. We had an adventure getting out there (flight canceled, rerouted to new airport, bag sent to old airport, etc...) but we made it! It was a bit on the chilly side, as far as Florida is concerned - so no beach this trip. But it was still warmer than Utah! Here are some pictures from the zoo. AND of Aimee pestering Abby (the dog). She is a huge fan of dogs these days. She constantly wanted to hug her, sit on her, and feed her. I think Abby tolerated Aimee so well because she got about half of every meal Aimee ate.

Feeding the ducks! (Probably her favorite thing at the zoo - she threw a royal fit when we left)

Cheesy smile (not you mom)

Giant turtle thing

Pals (I love the slight look of annoyance on Abby's face)

You will be my friend!

More to come!

Some fun news first...

I had my ultrasound today - and if you haven't heard yet, it's a BOY!
We are all really excited. Well, maybe not Aimee so much. But the rest of us - yes, we are really excited! I don't know what it was with this pregnancy, maybe the fact that we will have to move right around the due date is constantly looming over my head. Or maybe because I've done this pregnancy thing before - I just didn't feel super attached to the baby. But something clicked today. Maybe it's knowing the gender (and seeing him yawn during the ultrasound!), it just kind of made it all real for me. I stopped by old navy this afternoon and looked at some newborn sized boy onesies too. It was then I got really excited to hold my little boy!

In other news - I have lots to upload from my recent Florida trip. Unfortunately NO video will play on my mac right now- I will try to get the pictures up soon!

Mom, you're a horrible singer

Yes, I am a horrible singer, this is true. But really, what I think bothered her the most was the fact that I wasn't singing the right song. I couldn't figure out what song she was talking about!

We figured out later that the song she was so desperately requesting was, "The Big Big Spider." Basically the same thing as the itsy bitsy spider, only sung with a lower voice. Silly me.

Aquarium

Aquarium Day! We went just earlier this week with Addison, Laura, Hillary and Nora.
Here are some of the pictures - and a few of Aimee making some random faces! She looks SO old to me!!

All these girls are within two months of each other and the next batch of siblings will be about the same! (And no - we didn't have a pregnancy pact)

Friday is our favorite day...

And this is why:

Every Friday Aimee and I try to make it to the library for Mother Goose Story Time. It's one of the free programs put on by the library during the week. The kids (and parents) LOVE it! They do such an amazing job! A typical day includes: songs, a story, a puppet show, more songs, and a coloring sheet at the end. It is super packed every week, we try to get there early to get a good seat by the floor.
Yesterday we got there early enough to get such a seat and I happened to have my camera with me. This song is called "Shake Your Sillies Out" and is an instant hit with any baby or toddler. You can see our friend Nora in the video too! It's more fun when we can go with friends - so if you're available on Fridays from 11:00-11:30, come join us!

I miss my little baby...

Quick post:
I was looking back through some old posts, looking for one where I took Aimee to parent/tot swim lessons last year (because we're doing it again this year). I totally thought I posted a picture of that - but can't find it anywhere. However, I did go through a bunch of pictures/videos of Aimee when she was little and got all heart sick. She was so different then, like another person... maybe you other moms out there will relate. Anyway, it made me sad. But don't get me wrong, Aimee as a toddler is super fun! I just miss having a little baby around. Good thing we're due to have another one August 17th :)
